Give me back those days...

My father was a civil Engineer. So, we moved places many times once in every 3years. Luckily we stayed in Titilagarh (Bolangir,Orissa, India) for more days as my dad got a defense project to work on. We moved to Bhawanipatna (Orissa, India)in my mid 8th std. First my parents decided to stay back in Titilagarh, till I complete my 8th std. Later decided again to move. So, finally we moved.

The first day of my school, new atmosphere. But my dad chose the school because it is private and they give attention to each student. Why, when we change the place, we feel we dont belong to the same species i.e human. The other side fellow thinks we dont belong to their species. I can say, I am bit brave, as I was a sports-person and always stood first in the class. Anyway I fought with a guy named, Binod Panda. Later sir scolded him, which I loved that time. The first day, didnt make me feel that here I would have lot of memory to cherish.

Found a rainbow there... Rainbow has "7" colours, that was the name I gave to that group.. why??? just 7 of them.. SARIKA, SOURISH, SUDHA, SUSHREE, APRAJITA, TATINI, PURABHI.. they just made the group like nobody could break the impenetrable...

A'way I was not knowing I would be future Abhimanyu. I hardly recollect how I broke it.........

For you, Dad...

Project yet to complete. So, didnt join for Baripada (orissa, india) trip with Soum. Late at I night found my dad asking me to switch on the water pump to fill the tank. He came back to me again in a hurry telling he was getting some pain at his heart. Just 2hrs before we been to bus stop, everything normal. I looked at my dad, felt a man from heaven, an Angle. Bright, my eye can hold. Told him to chant "OM" and looked for my brother at the upstair. Yes, it was too late, the Apollo clinic too failed to detect his heart beat...

You hold my hand at the last moment of yours, Dad.. Did that you want to say me something...

Murphy's Law

If there's more than one possible outcome of a job or task, and one of those outcomes will result in disaster or an undesirable consequence, then somebody will do it that way. In his resignation letter, Raju, ex-chairman of stayam stated riding a tiger without knowing how to get of. Googling the backgroud of Raju, found that a MBA from Ohio university and course at Harvard. Started his carrer from a spin mill , then reality. Lastly settled with Satyam in 1997.Now irony is these days thieves come with white-collar.

Tracking for last one year, never seen a stock falling 80% a day in NSE. The worst is in NYSE it is 99.97% down. Friday what will happen to satyam share, still a big question unanswered.

Feeling to write something on blog.. Yesterday Tushar Kapoor came as the guest of VOI-2. He came for promoting his movie "GOLMAL RETURNS".. why not 'GOLMAL REPEATS"?? Anyway I think, the GOLMAL happened not in the same fashion.. but still the GOLMAL happened.. So, 'History Returns' can be a better name than 'History Repeats'..

I was least bother about the sensex.. These days having a break from work life, made me to start reading all financial stuff. Yesterday whille going through the
www.nseindia.com/, the fact file, gave a bolt from blue

SWAMINOMICS : Pains of a slowing economy

I am not usually a pessimist. But i predict that India will suffer a lot of pain in the next 18 months, as the economy slows down along with the current global slowdown.

The US, Europe and Japan are sinking into recession together. Forget claims that India has decoupled from the US and can keep growing fast regardless. India and most developing countries are indeed much less dependent on the US economy than in the past. So, Indian growth will be dented rather than smashed. GDP growth will slide from 9 % last year to 7% this financial year, and to maybe 6% next year.

Now, 7% is a miracle growth rate by historical standards. You might think that declining from super-miraculous to merely miraculous growth cannot be particularly painful. You would be dead wrong. The direction of change matters more than the absolute level. Rising from 5% to 7% is blissful, but falling from 9% to 7% is painful. And a subsequent tumble to 6% will be more painful still.

To appreciate why the direction of change matters so much, recall the 1990s. India went bust in 1991, reformed by globalising, and reaped the reward of fast growth. GDP growth averaged 7.5% in the three-year period 1994-97. India’s growing integration with the world economy enabled it to share in the global economic boom of those years. Foreign institutional investors flooded into all emerging markets, including India, sending stock market prices spiralling. Indian optimists thought that miraculous growth was here to stay. But along came the Asian financial crisis in 1997, and the Indian economy slumped along with the global economy. Indian GDP growth averaged just 5.5% in the next five years.

Now, 5.5 % may not sound too bad, just a modest deceleration from the 7.5% of the preceding boom. Indeed, India’s 5.5% at the time was one of the fastest growth rates in the world. Yet, the change in direction, from acceleration to deceleration, caused enormous pain.

Industrial growth crashed in 1997-98, and barely limped forward for years. Many industries had borrowed massively during the mid-1990s boom to invest in world-class new plants, for which there was suddenly no demand. Huge projects were abandoned unfinished, with companies defaulting on mega loans. These financial defaults brought the lending institutions also to the verge of bankruptcy, from which they were saved mainly by creative accounting and a friendly RBI. Medium and small companies crashed along with their larger brethren. Employment went into a tailspin. Stock markets crashed and companies stopped repaying fixed deposits, so household investors suffered trauma.

The budgets of the central and state governments assumed steady growth of revenue year after year. But the 1997 slowdown hit tax collections. Meanwhile, a bumper Pay Commission award hugely inflated the wage bills of central and state governments. So, governments, corporations, employees and household investors were all sucked downward into a whirlpool of distress. The only saving grace was the IT boom, sparked by the global Y2K scare. But that turned out to be a bubble, and it burst in 2001.

Difficult though these years were, they did not witness economic collapse. India did not revert to the old Hindu rate of growth of 3.5%, witnessed in the three decades after independence. GDP growth in 1997-2002 averaged a solid 5.5%. But the direction of change was downward, not upward, and that was enough to cause widespread distress.

I fear we are about to see a repetition of that process. As in the 1990s, a booming world economy first lifted Indian growth (and stock markets) to new heights for several years, giving rise to the illusion of permanency. As in the 1990s, the subsequent global slump is going to cause an Indian slump too. As in the 1990s, the fiscal problems of the government are going to be exacerbated by a Pay Commission award.

However, we are much better prepared for this downturn than we were in the 1990s. Our foreign exchange reserves are almost $300 billion, cushioning our balance of payments. Corporations have not gone on a borrowing spree paying 20% interest, as they did in the 1990s — they have large cash reserves, modest debt-equity ratios, and interest rates are much lower today. The banking system is in relatively good shape. The latest Pay Commission award this time is less onerous than the 1997 one. Our savings rate has crossed 30%, and can keep financing a healthy rate of investment. Infrastructural sectors like telecom, power, roads, and ports will be only minimally affected by a recession.

Nevertheless, pain will be widespread and sometimes deep. Income and job opportunities will slacken, sometimes dramatically. Many companies will suffer shrinkage or bankruptcy, especially small ones. Boom sectors like transport, restaurants, trade, real estate and exports will go into reverse gear. Credit will tighten, for consumers as well as companies. Corporate profits will slump. The revenues of central and state governments will fall, curbing their ability to alleviate distress. The stock markets will fall further, and the Sensex may fall below 10,000. Tighten your seat belts: we are running into rough weather.

Love for music

Pitch, tempo, texture rhythm.. all these are out of scope for me. Still yesterday night while watching "Voice of India-2", I was totally into state-feeling rather than listening songs. First of all I was surprised, if really they want to make "Voice of India", then why it is "Voice of Orissa", "Voice of Punjab"...etc. why they are doing appeal for vote to the state only.. Ismali Darbar has pointed out the hindi pronounication in Sayantani Das (VOO). Lot of points ......

I was going deep into arguement, and to make the situation light, my husband sang the song "nida bhara rati"..... We searched night 11pm riyadh time for the song in google.com . At the end I came to know that as Real media player was not installed in my system, not able to play the song from net.

The link for the song

http://www.orissatv.com/songs/songs_by_alpha.asp

I found the place to post the lyric ..

Nida bhara rati,
madhu jhara janha
Mitha mitha eii jochhana
Tume nahan saathi aaji eii rati
Eka eka bhala laagena,
eka eka bhala laagena
Dure bahu dure nai aara pare
Birahi ke jhure bainshi ra sure
Sei sure haji jochhana re bhiji
Khoje mu tumaku eka eka aaji
Dura chanda tume bujhila ta nahin
Kumudini mana bedana, kumudini mana bedana
Tume nila dheu mu je bela bhuin
Tume jao dure khali mote chhuin
Pase thile kichhi pare nahin kahi
Gale dure tume jhure tuma paiin
Dhara dele bhabe kahi debi hele
Bhabe sina kahi parena, bhabe sina kahi parena

I downloaded the RealPlayer evaluation version. Downloaded the song and recorded with the help of sound recorder (START->PROGRAM->ACCESSORIES->ENTERTAINMENT->SOUND RECORDER) and uploaded to the below location

At the end I forgot the whole discussion. And I understood this is all about MUSIC..

Rasgulla

Cooking was never my cup of tea.. Today felt like making something, never tried.. After so much thinking I felt to go for 'RASGULLA". The reason - if it was going to be hard, I could make "RASMALAI" out of it.

I sat for searching 'RASGULLA" in YOUTUBE. Below is the link

I didnt forget to go through the FAQ

Q1# rasgullas became hard
A1# knead the paneer for 3 - 4 minutes until it is almost smooth

Q2# size did not expand
A2# Drop balls in "ras" when vapor coming off form the whole liquid surface-not earlier not later

Q3#got dissolved in the sugar soup
A3#take more water out of paneer

Q4# rasgulla cracked
A4# Add 1tsp suji , 1tsp maida, 1tsp butter to chena (out of 1L milk).

I started preparation for almost 1hr as I made the chena out of milk. Just put the Rasgullas in the refrigerator. In my mind, started calculating 'If 6rasgulla takes 1hr, how much time it takes to prepare 12 rasgulla. ". Thanks to Manjula, making me to cook. Waiting for my husband to back from office.

At last I can show him "RASGULLA" prepared by me !!!

KA03-5071

After long waiting, I got the call from the sales representative to go to PRATHAM MOTORS on 19th JAN 2007. But I control my temptation to collect the vehicle on 23rd JAN. 23rd JAN a special day for me, as my marriage got fixed on the day but different year..Many told not to collect the car on the day, as it was falling on tuesday. Though I believe astrology, but not superstitious.

So, after office, ran to PRATHAM MOTORS, queen road. Marathahalli to Queen Road is almost like going from east end to west end of bangalore. But the excitment was on..

The flashback.. car learning
1. Way in 2001, when I started learning car, it was going fine for few days.. one fine early morning, while learning driving I took the car in front of a tractor. Thanks to the Tilu (our driver) to make me alive today.

2. After discontinuation of driving for so many months, again it started in last week of december 2001. Every year on 1st jan, early morning 4am, we all family member used to go to PURI (Jagannatha Dham Puri temple). 1st-jan-2002, I got ready early than other members of my family. Taken the keys from the usual place, and started the car. Leaving the cluth, and pressing the accelator slowly to balance the car, suddenly I pressed the accelator badly with fear. and the next moment I only heard the sound ..
Car Crash 6b (sound effect).wav . Next anybody can guess. My car learning stopped from the day. Inside me started an oath taking ceremony to learn car driving on my own car.. after 5years it is going to full fill.

3. I enrolled for a car driving school in bangalore. Within 1month time I had 5hrs of driving class with 1hr each week. simple guess, how much i must have learnt.
-----------------------------
I reached with one of my friend to the car shop. It was around 6.30pm. They took 2hrs to give me the car. My long waiting KA03-5071 .. I touched .. I smelled..

Charming Relationship-Blessing

At last the day arrived in my life.. The blessing I got from Pondy.
To unite your physical existences and your material interests, to associate yourselves so as to face together the difficulties and successes, the defeats and victories of life- this is the very basis of marriage-but you know already that it does not suffice. To be united in feelings, to have the same tastes and the same aesthetic pleasures, to vibrate together in a common response to the same things, one by the other and one for the other-it is good; it is necessary-but it is not enough.
To be one in profound sentiments, your affection, your feelings of tenderness for each other not varying in spite of all the shocks of existence; withstanding wearinss, narrow limitations and disappointments, to be always and in every case most happy to be together; to find under all circumstances, one in the presence of the other, rest, peace and joy-it is good, it is very good, it is indispensable -but it is not enough.
To unite your mentalities, your thoughts harmonising and becoming complementary to each other, your preoccupations and intellectual discoveries shared between you; in a word, to realise your spheres of mental activity identical through a broadening and an enrichment acquired by the two at the same time- it is good, it is absolutely necessary- but it is not enough.
Beyond it all, at the bottom, at the centre, at the summit of the being, there is a Supreme Truth of the being, an Eternal Light independent of all circumstances of birth, of country, of environment, of education; the origin, cause and master of our spiritual development- it is this that gives a definite orientation to our existence; it is this that decides our destiny; it is in the consciousness of This that you should unite. To be one in aspiration and ascension, to advance with the same step on the spiritual path-such is the secret of a durable union.

Smile please..

Sunday evening (1st May 2005) , started for a walk with Amita(PG mate) on the road of Kormangala, Bangalore. Suddenly felt to go GKVale shop just for a window shopping.

Rarely read any review about camera, just had an idea that digital camera is all no reel changing. Though worked with DSP processor ( analog devices) and knew that sampling theorem needs only 2points to reconstuct a signal, still I was not aware of the technicality of a digital camera. The shopkeeper started explaining models from canon, olympus.. sony, many more.. He could very well notice the satisfaction in my face by hearing SONY.. Started explaining, 'madam.. see this is one of the latest version launched in the market.. see the compactness 5 megapixel (3 megapixel is enough for a good picture), 3X optical zoom, 10x digital zoom, f2.8-5.2/7.9-23,7mm Vario-Tessar lens ..... DSC P100'.

Hardly I had Rs500/- in my purse.. Rs20,400/- deal was too much for me that time. To make the situation in shopkeeper favour, the salesperson told me 'credit card will do'. He didnt forgot to mention that ICICI credit card had EMI option with zero interest. 'ZERO INTEREST', without giving the next thought I simply got my card out of my purse.. Next moment, the most desired digital CAMERA was with me.

Now I can say to all "Smile Please..".

Celebration of miracle

5th Nov 2004.. going to be 10th year celebration for D-Link(India) Ltd. For that we were supposed to go GOA from Bangalore. They were planning for BUS drive through KARWARA. We got an invitation from PREETHA (HR) - 'For witness of the celebration, Family allowed'. [P.S# Family means if you are married, then you have family. otherwise not]. Vidyadhar asked a nice question to the director.. "Then why interviewer expect to tell about the parents and siblings of the unmarried candidate , when he/she asked about family.. where the FAMILY stands".. He had the guts to ask because he committed his old parents to take them.. and at the end moment he got a red signal from the higher management side. At the end JV convinced him, but Vidyadhar didnt join us..

At last we reached "DONA SYLVIA".. For me the first time I reached in such a hotel. I was blanked by the decoration.. Dont feel that I am advetising.. Really it was happening to me.. I was loosing control 'how to behave'. Everything mod.. Even bathroom, why to wear the polythene cap, not understood by me.. My room-mate USA-return guided me somehow to behave a so called civilised. I was ok by evening..

Evening, the celebration on.. I know (now almost forgot) Odissi.. so it is better to tell I heard the name.. Dinner party dance was something new for me.. SYLVIA dance.. mindblowing, fanstic (aloud).. this is too much.. I cant be Himesh Reshmiya :)

It was the after effect... I (centre) can dance :).
